Culinary Ministry

Sis. Annette Camon, Director

The Culinary Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church is more than just preparing meals—it’s about serving others with love and hospitality. Through food, fellowship, and service, we aim to nourish both body and soul. Whether we’re hosting church events, supporting outreach efforts, or providing meals to those in need, we use our gifts in the kitchen to bring people together and share God’s love in a tangible way.

He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor. (Proverbs 22:9)

Deacon Ministry

Deacon Duane Richardson, Chair

1 Timothy 3

  • Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued,[a] not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain.
  • 9They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.
  • 10And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless.
  • 11Their wives likewise[b] must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.
  • 12Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well.
  • 13For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

Jesus Wept (John 11:35 KJV)

Grief Support Ministry Meets
6:30 PM – Monthly Every Fourth Thursday

Our Mission

To provide a safe and welcoming environment for those going through the many stages of grief.

Our Vision

To ensure that individuals do not suffer alone by engaging in ministry which provides effective outreach affirming concern for their condition.

Let God Lend a Helping Hand

Support will be offered in a safe and welcoming environment through prayer, open discussions, referrals (if desired), book reviews, professional facilitators and other resources relevant to the grief journey. We look forward to engaging with all who desire to gain knowledge and insights that would assist and prayerfully turn your grief journey into one of victory.

God is With You Every Step of The Way
Grief is a part of our human response to loss, particularly to the loss of someone or some living thing that has died, to which a bond or affection was formed. Although conventionally focused on the emotional response to loss, grief also has physical, cognitive, behavioral, social, cultural, spiritual and philosophical dimensions. While the terms are often used interchangeably, bereavement refers to the state of loss, while grief is the reaction to the loss.

The Grief Support Ministry welcomes anyone who would like to participate.

Stages of Grief

Denial

A natural reaction in the grief process. In this phase, the grieving individual has not been able to comprehend or accept the reality of the loss of a loved one or the loss of some other nature.

Depression

Or an acute sadness, is when the great loss begins more deeply affecting your life. Maybe the sadness feels as if it will last forever, or you’ve withdrawn from life or are wondering if life is worth living.

Anger

Is another natural reaction in the grief process. Anger is pain’s bodyguard. It’s how we express pain. Beneath anger can be feelings of hopelessness or powerlessness, sometimes prompting guilt and blame that some people use to maintain an illusion of control or express frustration.

Acceptance

When we come to a place of acceptance, it is not that we no longer feel the pain of loss. However, we are no longer resisting the reality of our situation, and we are not struggling to make it something different. “It just means that we now accept the new reality of our life. “

Bargaining

Often stems from guilt. Bargaining after a loss typically involves “if only” statements, focused on regrets about what you did or didn’t do before the person died or the loss occurred.

Our Guidance
Scripture gives us a picture of how Jesus started his men’s ministry.

Mark 3:13-15 “Jesus went up on a mountain and called to him those he wanted, and they came to him. He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons”
Jesus was with his disciples, but what happen after Jesus returned to heaven.

Acts 4:13 “When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus”

Mission

The Men’s Ministry of Calvary Baptist Church exist to develop a spiritual and biblical grounded men of faith and to restore discipleship as the central mission of the church.

It is not enough to make better husband, dads, workers and etc. We must be careful not to merely seek to improve men’s behavior (better flesh). Instead, our calling must bring Men to the foot of the cross and full surrender of their lives to the lordship of JESUS CHRIST.

37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
