“Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their households well..”

The FOSWM is a faith-based ministry comprised of women from all walks of life who seek to bond in sisterhood, by celebrating the joys and coping with the challenges of spiritual growth and Christian development.
The Ministry meets on the third Thursday at 6:30 pm.
Sister Geneva Smith-Johnson
The primary function of this ministry is to give assistance to the Pastor and congregation during worship service. During times of bereavement, the ministry may be relied upon to offer words of comfort and assistance to grieving families. The ministry also disseminates health information throughout the congregation and community in the form of Health Fairs, Speakers, Newsletters, and Seminars.
Meets on the first Saturday of each month.
Sister Bernice Howard
The purpose of this institute is for leaders to strengthen themselves and those who are interested in learning more about God to strengthen their foundation. This institute is comprised of certified classes offered once per year over a three day period. All classes are certified by the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.
Sister Letizia Conrad
The MOM checks on the well-being of members who are sick and shut-in through telephone calls, get well cards and visitation to homes and nursing facilities. They comfort the bereaved and provide assistance to the needy with food.
Meets on the second Saturday of the month at noon.
Sister Letizia Conrad
This ministry is comprised of musicians and choirs who minister through song. The music ministry includes five musicians, the Male Chorus, Youth Choir, and Mass Choir.
Male Chorus rehearsal is the Thursday before the last Sunday of each month.
Deacon Frazer T. Smith
This Sunday School ministry communicates the Christian faith and life in distinctive, practical, and biblical ways. They aim to provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment for the members and friends of Calvary Baptist Church.
Sunday School teachers meet on Tuesday from September through June.
The purpose of the Scholarship Ministry is to award scholarships to high school seniors of Calvary Baptist Church; to award scholarships to currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students; to raise awareness’ about the college application and financial aid process; to provide detailed information through workshops, presentations, and literature on both applying for college and financial aid.

This ministry provides security for the Calvary Baptist Church property during worship services and special events.
Deacon Fred Harris
The SCM serves as a venue to provide comprehensive services for the seniors of Calvary Baptist Church and the surrounding community. To provide spiritual enrichment, socialization, learning opportunities and services as needed.
Meets the second and third Wednesday of the month.
Sister Mabel Andrews
This ministry provides transportation for members to Sunday Service, weekly programs, and special events locally and regionally.
Sister Emma Garrett
Members of the Trustee Ministry serve the members of Calvary Baptist Church by maintaining the property, finances, and overall business of the church.
The Trustees meet every fourth Monday (September-June).

Vacation Bible School is a viable and necessary supplemental teaching / learning program for children, youth, and adults of various ages. VBS provides additional opportunities for outreach into the community for teaching the Good News of Jesus Christ and extending opportunities for fellowship in small groups.
Sister Lynne Baugh-Richardson
The Youth and Senior Usher’s Ministry’s goal is to provide a pleasing demeanor that will leave a good lasting Christian expression on all as they enter Calvary Baptist Church.
The Youth and Senior Ushers Ministry meets on the second Saturday of each month at 1:00 pm.
Sister Nina McLaughlin
The Youth Ministry commits to the teaching of God’s Holy Word in a course of study that will make stronger Christian young men and Christian young women, and therefore stronger citizens in the total pursuit of life.
The Youth Ministry meets weekly on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. The Teen Discipleship also meets weekly on Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
